BC’s everyday jams

Every week we’ll be updating our Spotify playlist to share our favorite tunes to listen to in beltway traffic.

  1. This week our cellist Erin Snedecor has curated a fun mix with everything from contemporary string quartet music to bluegrass.

  2. Since it was just her birthday on the 6th, we’re adding clarinetist Emily Robinson’s picks to the mix this week!

  3. Another week means more tunes added to our playlist! Since we are sharing a recording of Liz and Sandy’s recent collaboration, they are sharing their favorites jams with you!

  4. Last week of tunes for everyone! This time around Emory and Meg are adding their favorites to the list with everything from oldies to indies. Enjoy!

Week 1

We are thrilled you have chosen to support Balance Campaign and help us Bring Back Live Music! Every week we hope you’ll logon to our VIP page for some fun new content.

This week we are offering a virtual recording we created for a local composer Kathryn Blake based out of Baltimore, MD, All Burnt Up.

Week 2

One week down and we are so grateful for all of your donations! Balance Campaign made two exciting announcements in the first six days of this campaign; not only did we reach one-quarter of our fundraising goal, but we surpassed our half-way milestone three days later. None of this would have been possible without your generosity and support! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

During Week 2, we have some beautiful music videos crafted by our stellar cellist, Erin Snedecor. During the worst of the pandemic when we were all isolated, Erin recorded Kenji Sakai’s piece for solo cello, Monopolyphonie/Défiguration.

week 3

We cannot believe we are only halfway through our fundraiser and already $250 away from our three-quarter milestone. Thank you for all of your donations and social media shares! You are the reason we have come so close to our fundraising goal in such a short amount of time. Let’s keep this momentum going!

As a thank you, we put together some more great content for you this week that we are really excited to share. Our clarinetist, Emily Robinson is performing Zanelle by Viet Cuong. You may recognize Cuong as one of our commissioned composers being funded by this campaign! And, Sandy Choi is back with our pianist Elizabeth G. Hill performing Jessie Montgomery’s Peace.

WEEK 4

Balance Campaign is thrilled to announce that not only have we hit our 3/4 milestone, but thanks to our supportive donors, we have blasted through it! Our fundraiser has now raised over $8,000 with just over 1 week left. We thank you again and ask that you please share our cause so we may meet our $10,000 goal in this last week!

We have a fun video to share with you this week! It was a virtual project we each filmed in our own homes at the beginning of the pandemic when we were really missing one another and playing together. This piece features the entire ensemble and our wonderful percussionist, Emory Hensley kindly did all of the audio/video editing. As we officially change from one season to the next, please enjoy spring from wissahickon poeTrees by Jennifer Higdon!
